Sharing from the Heart
On February 8th, I began writing a few lines of rhyme during my quiet time. It's my way of journaling. I shared them with my wife, and she encouraged me to share them with others.
I created Quiet Time Rhyme to share all of my rhymes. It has grown to over 200 rhymes and I will continue to add more in the days to come. I pray they touch you during these often stressful times.

John Alexander writes books that appeal to elementary school children to capture their imagination and help them discover the love of reading early in life.
During the last five years of his career in the high-tech industry John discovered his love for writing. In August of 2014 he started spending full time pursuing that passion.
After co-authoring two editions of a technical book (CallManager Fundamentals – 23,000+ copies sold), he turned to fiction and wrote a mystery suspense novel titled The Enclave released August 2010.
At the end of 2014 he began the Amber-Autumn mystery series of chapter books for elementary school children.
Amber and Autumn, elementary school sisters, don’t seek out problems to solve, but they often find themselves engaged in uncovering truths, solving mysteries, and helping others in the process. Autumn’s natural curiosity, combined with her boldness, leads her to push for answers to anything she does not understand. Amber, her older sister, more cautious and easily spooked, prefers to let Autumn drive ahead to solve mysteries which come their way, but Amber's keen skills of observation often lead to the resolutions they seek. The series includes:
The Christmas Garden (Oct 2014)
A Grandfather's Blessing (Dec 2014)
The Golden Campout (Jun 2015)
The Secret Room (Oct 2017)

John discovered his love for rhyme and released his debut book of poetry, Timeless Tales, in 2018. His first picture book, Words That Soar, won first place at the 2019 North Texas Book Festival. The Christmas Gift, published by Elk Lake Publishing, Inc, came out in 2019.
John felt the need to write daily rhymes beginning in February 2020 in as the news of a pandemic began to spread. He began writing during his quiet time most mornings. As this practice continued, his wife encouraged him to share them. Hebegan to share them with friends in the form of a blog. The rhymes kept coming each morning through July 2020. In August 2020, he published 148 poems, Quiet Time Rhymes: Peace in the Pandemic.
